Charlie Daniels Calls Charlottesville Violence ‘Manifestation of Hate’

Country musician Charlie Daniels calls Saturday’s violence during a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. “a manifestation of hate.”

The performer made the comments before taking the stage for a concert in Fredericksburg, Va. that evening, saying violence on the whole is getting “out of hand” in America.

“It is ridiculous what’s going on in Chicago (shootings) right now. It’s ridiculous what’s going on in Charlottesville right now. I mean that’s a manifestation of hate. They (government officials) knew it was going to happen before it happened – the elements that were involved in that thing, there’s no way – it’s trouble. It’s trouble, trouble, trouble and they knew it was going to happen,” Daniels said.

“It’s like – this country cannot be let - get out of hand, it cannot do it. We can’t have these things, we can’t have people beating on each other people running over each other with cars and that sort of thing.”
